Eric here. I’ve hastily assembled this webpage explaining online lessons! So a quick history, online music lessons have been happening in music for well over a decade, and we are lucky that technology allows us to continue lessons even from afar. Skype is a popular platform, as is google hangouts and facetime, but I have chosen to try zoom.us for now.
First thing’s first, you will need to choose a device to use for the lesson. A phone (iPhone, android) will work great, but if you have an iPad or laptop the larger screen size would be good too. You can use the speakers on your device, but headphones or earbuds may be clearer. My personal setup is going to be an iPad Pro and Sony bluetooth headphones, so if you do decide to use your device’s speakers we shouldn’t have feedback issues. If using a phone, iPad or android tablet you will need to install an app (see below). The website for ZOOM is www.zoom.us .
LINK TO INSTALL THE APP FOR THE ZOOM LESSON
iOS || ANDROID
**FOR LAPTOPS AFTER YOU CLICK THE LESSON LINK (FOR EXAMPLE “LESSONS WITH ERIC“)IT AUTOMATICALLY PROMPTS YOU TO INSTALL THE ZOOM SOFTWARE, AND THEN BEGINS THE VIDEO AFTER A FEW PROMPTS www.zoom.us**
SIGN UP FOR A FREE ZOOM ACCOUNT www.zoom.us.
THEN ADD US AS CONTACTS
!!PLEASE TEST THE APP ON YOUR DEVICE BEFORE THE LESSON!!
We would appreciate if those who have not prepaid would pay per lesson right now, as it is easiest for keeping track. We can accept VENMO ( @kadimaconservatory ), and highly recommend signing up for this no fee service. Paypal charges a fee so we are trying to avoid it. Of course cash and cheque are also still ok!

THANK YOU!! During these difficult times we strongly believe that trying to maintain a sense of normalcy will help everyone the most. We very much appreciate your willingness to continue lessons as it is also our main means of income. So let’s keep up the music!
