Featured Soloist – Zoe Rodriguez

Zoe Rodriguez, violinist

When she was in first grade, Zoe asked to play the violin. It’s never been far from ear or her shoulder since.

She has earned the Jack Kesselman award from Kadima, the Sarah Kang award from Millikan Middle School, and recently was named a finalist at the Valley Cultural Center’s scholarship program. Born and raised in San Fernando, she has performed at the gallery openings of La Galeria Gitana.

Finishing up her sophomore year at Van Nuys High School, she’s become a performing arts triple threat–in orchestra, dance, and the spring musical, “Beauty and the Beast.” When she’s not performing something, she’s off studying for Calculus and AP World. She loves Chai lattes and Panic! at the Disco. Contrary to popular belief, she occasionally does sleep.

Upon graduation, Zoe plans to study civil engineering and find a great college ensemble or local orchestra to play in.

Zoe wants to thank her music teachers, Beth, Eric, and Lynn. She also wants to thank her most recent duet partner, Drew, and wishes Anthony & Zahra nothing but the best in college.

In addition, Zoe thanks her friends and family for their love and support, and her dog for listening (and snoring) through all her practicing. Listen to Zoe’s performance here.
