Featured Soloist – David Ibarra

David Ibarra, violinist

David is 16 years old and in the 12th grade. He is currently a first violinist in the Kadima Conservatory Philharmonic. At the age of two, David displayed a great interest in numbers and taught himself to read. David began violin lessons at age three.

When David was eight years old he met Eric Benning who introduced him to a wonderful mentor, his mother, Nancy Benning. David has studied with Nancy for over nine years. David has also had the privilege of working with Brian Benning. David would like to thank Nancy and Brian for all the challenging work, friendship, and motivation.

David joined the Kadima Conservatory of Music in 2015. David would like to thank Beth Elliott, Eric KM Clark, and Lynn Angebranndt who have taught him technique, musical expression, and just having fun playing.

Last summer David had the opportunity to begin study with esteemed violinist Mitch Newman. David is grateful to Mitch for continuing to challenge his playing and helping him prepare to enter college.

David has been accepted to The Masters University, Fall 2017. He plans to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance. He is grateful to Kadima for all of the motivation, fun, and knowledge they have inspired in him. He is also thankful to his parents and family for the encouragement and love they have given him through the years. Listen to David’s performance here.
